Virgin Mary is a Big Deal in the Quran and Muslim Tradition

And when she bore her, she said, ‘My Lord, I have borne a female [child]’ —and God [Allah] knew better what she had borne — ‘and the male is not like the female. I have named her Mary, and I commend her and her offspring to Your care against [the evil of] the outcast Satan.’ (3:36)

Allah chose Mary above all other women in the world!  Mary is the most important woman in Christianity, but in truth there are more references to Mary in the Quran than there are in the New Testament Bible. In fact, Mary­—or Maryam—is the only woman to be referred to by name in the Quran (the names of other women are inferred from tradition).

A hadith (traditional saying) adds that “the Prophet [Mohamed] names Mary as one of the four spiritually perfected women of the world,” (763) who will “lead the soul of blessed women to Paradise” (143).

“Many men have achieved perfection and among women, Mary daughter of ‘Imran and Asiyah wife of Pharoah.”   Ibn Arabi, volume 3.

And when the angels said: ‘O Mary, Allah has chosen you and purified you and He has chosen you above the women of the worlds.’ (3:42)

The Quran supports the idea of a Virgin birth. In the Quran God declares, “[Mary is the one who] preserved her chastity. We breathed Our Spirit into her and made her, and her son, signs to the worlds” (Q 21.91)

And Mary, daughter of Imran, who guarded the chastity of her womb, so We breathed into it of Our spirit… (66:12)

She [Mary] said, ‘My Lord, how shall I have a child seeing that no human has ever touched me?’ (3:47)

She [Mary] said, ‘How shall I have a child seeing that no human being has ever touched me, nor have I been unchaste?’ (19:20)

And when the angels said, ‘O Mary, Allah has chosen you and purified you and He has chosen you above the world’s women. (3:42)

… and We made her and her son [Jesus] a sign for all the nations. (21:91)

The description of the birth of Jesus sounds a great deal like the birth of Adam: God breathes life into something. Some people have seen this as anti-Christian polemic, but Gabriel Reynolds, a professor at the University of Notre Dame, notes in his book The Qur’an and Its Biblical Subtext that ;

“when the Qur’an compares the birth of Christ with that of Adam… it is indeed making a polemical point, only not against Christians. On the contrary, it is arguing against the Jews who deny the Virgin Birth and Christ himself.”

Interestingly, the Quran is completely silent about the role of Joseph. In this version of the Virgin Birth, an angel announces that Mary will give birth, Mary consents (as she does in the Gospel of Luke) but, later, feels forgotten and abandoned. As she is overcome by the burden of pregnancy, she cries out

“Would that I had died before this and was a thing forgotten, utterly forgotten!” (19:23).

The angel shows her running water and a date tree to ease her suffering. The reference to eating dates is especially noteworthy as, even today, dates are thought to induce labor. After giving birth, Mary returns with her child to the Temple. There, Jesus miraculous speaks (as an infant) and proclaims his identity as a prophet. To this day March 25, the Day of the Annunciation, is a public holiday in Lebanon.

Named Yahya in the Koran

John the Babtist, Yaḥyā ibn Zakarīyā in Arabic -- Yahya is also honored highly in Sufism as well as Islamic mysticism, primarily because of the Quran's description of John's chastity and kindness.^[4] Sufis have frequently applied commentaries on the passages on John in the Quran, primarily concerning the God-given gift of wisdom which he acquired in youth as well as his parallels with Jesus. Although several phrases used to describe John and Jesus are virtually identical in the Quran, the manner in which they are expressed is different.

Yahya was exhorted to hold fast to the scripture and was given wisdom by God while still a child.^[14] He was pure and devout, and walked well in the presence of God. He was dutiful towards his parents and he was not arrogant or rebellious. John's reading and understanding of the scriptures, when only a child, surpassed even that of the greatest scholars of the time.^[6] Muslim exegesis narrates that Isa sent Yahya out with twelve disciples,^[15] who preached the message before Jesus called his own disciples.^[7] The Quran says:^[16]

"O Yaḥya! take hold of the Book with might": and We gave him Wisdom even as a youth,

— Maryam, 19:12

John was a classical prophet,^[17] who was exalted high by God for his bold denouncing of all things sinful. Furthermore, the Quran speaks of John's gentle piety and love and his humble attitude towards life, for which he was granted the purity of Life.

According to Islamic tradition, Yahya used to go to the Haram esh-Sharif (Temple Mount) to deliver his sermons.^[3]

During the prophethood of Yahya, a conflict occurred between him and Herod Antipas, who wanted to divorce his first wife and take as wife his former sister-in-law.^[3] Yahya informed that the marriage might be incestuous, and did not approve of the marriage. After this, Herod Antipas had Yahya imprisoned.^[3] Yahya was then decapitated.^[18][3] Yahya's head is believed to be inside the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus

David Koresh = Vernon Wayne Howell

 

Howell moved quickly to assert his spiritual authority, and one of his first acts was the adoption of a new name, David Koresh. This name suggested that he was a spiritual heir of the biblical King David and that he, like Koresh (Hebrew for Cyrus, the ancient Persian king), was a messianic figure—though not the Messiah, Jesus.  (Cyrus is the only non-Jew to whom the title messiah, or "anointed one," is given in Scripture.)

February 28, 1993 the Mount Carmel headquarters was raided by the ATF.  After a long standoff ... on April 19, 1993 the headquarter building was burned down by the FBI in an attempt to enter.

918 Americans (304 aged 17 or younger) – members of a San Francisco-based religious group called the Peoples Temple – died after drinking poison at the urging of their leader, the Reverend Jim Jones, in a secluded South American jungle settlement.

I decided, how can I demonstrate my Marxism? The thought was, infiltrate the church. So I consciously made a decision to look into that prospect.

Jones had previously witnessed a faith healing service at the Seventh Day Baptist Church, and concluded that such healings could attract people, and generate income, helping to accomplish his social goals.^[3] Jones and Temple members knowingly faked healings because they found that the increased faith generated financial resources to help the poor and finance the church.^[3] These "healings" involved chicken livers and other animal tissue, claimed by Jones (and confederate Temple members) to be cancerous tissues removed from the body.^[5]

The Temple used ten to fifteen Greyhound-type bus cruisers to transport members up and down California freeways each week for recruitment and fundraising.^[33]Jones always rode bus number seven, which contained armed guards and a special section lined with protective metal plates.^[33] He told members that the Temple would not bother scheduling a trip unless it could net $100,000, and the Temple's goal for annual net income from bus trips was $1 million

Jone's church organized conventions that drew as many as 11,000 attendees,^[6] as Jones and the other preachers conducted "healings" and impressed attendees by revealing private information—usually numbers, such as addresses, phone numbers, or Social Security numbers, which private detectives could easily discover beforehand.^[6]

In 1961, Jones claimed he had had a vision of Chicago coming under a nuclear attack.^[16] He claimed that Indianapolis would also be destroyed,^[16] convincing aides that the Temple needed to look for a new location.  A 1962 Esquire magazine article listed the nine safest places to be in a nuclear war, so Jimmy set out to find a safe place to preach.  Jones preached that his healing power demonstrated that he was a special manifestation of "Christ the Revolution.

"Jim said that all of us were homosexuals," Joyce Houston, an ex-Temple follower, said in the Jonestown documentary. "Everyone except [him]. He was the only heterosexual on the planet, and that the women were all lesbians; the guys were all gay. And so anyone who showed in interest in sex was just compensating."

During Ryan's visit in Jonestown, a few settlers told the congressman that they wanted to return to the States, an act that Jones saw as a betrayal. Afterwards when Ryan, the defectors, and the journalists were waiting at the Port Kaituma airstrip for planes to take them home, a truck arrived carrying Temple gunmen who then opened fire.

Jones then  made his speech to his followers in the Jonestown pavilion.  He commanded his followers to drink cyanide-laced punch, starting with the children first.  Long before the actual event, Jones had his followers drink what they initially believed was poison as a test of loyalty to him, which  was a rehearsal for the event he had planned. There were armed guards with guns and crossbows to ensure that nobody was getting out alive.  Then gave the order to kill the children first.

Jim Jones, who was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head.  There is credible speculation that the person shot in the side of the head was not actually Jim Jones.

This year, November 18^th will mark the 40^th anniversary of the “Jonestown massacre”.  It was the largest such event in modern history and resulted in the largest single loss of American civilian life in a deliberate act until the state-sponsored staged events on September 11 in 2001.

9/11 was the event responsible for waking up many people to government deception by way of official narratives, investigations, reports and so on.  9/11 has also been responsible for motivating woke people to reexamine and often unlearn the official accounts of historical events.  The Jonestown massacre is such an event that needs to be unlearned.

Drink the Flavor Aid

 

First off, nobody drank Kool-Aid at the behest of Jim Jones, cult leader of the Peoples Temple at their agricultural commune known as “Jonestown” in the South American country of Guyana.  It was Flavor Aid—not Kool-Aid that was laced with cyanide poison and according to the Guyana government’s top pathologist, it was murder—not “revolutionary suicide” that claimed the lives of 911 of his “followers”.  [Yes, you read correctly.  911 deaths were reported by the Washington Post on December 17, 1978.   Add another one to the you-can’t-make-this-stuff-up file.]

Dr. C. Leslie Mootoo found that 90 percent of the victims had fresh needle marks at the back of their left shoulder blades.  Obviously, someone else would have had to inject them there.  He also observed that other people were found shot or strangled to death and others had cyanide poison forcefully squirted into their throats.  Surviving eyewitnesses said that anyone who resisted drinking was killed by armed guards.  Furthermore, a U.S. Army spokesperson declared, “no autopsies were needed as the cause of death was not an issue”.  [Haven’t we seen this movie before?]

Initial media reports claimed that Jones convinced 408 of his followers to drink the deadly Kool-Aid.  Over the next week, the media continued to report 408 deaths but also began reporting that 700 followers survived and ran off into the Guyanese jungle and U.S. army teams had arrived on site.  Inexplicably, the death toll increased to 700 then 800 and finally 911 just one week after the initial reports of 408.

The New York Times reported on November 25^th the additional 500 deaths were discovered because the Guyanese officials “could not count”.  Following reports claimed the new dead bodies were discovered hiding underneath the original bodies even though not one photograph of the hundreds taken showed any hidden bodies.

There’s always TIME for more propaganda

 

At the time, there were people who speculated that the seven hundred survivors that fled for the jungle were hunted down and killed by U.S. Military, Guyanese troops and British commandos who happened to be in the neighborhood for “training exercises”.  But it was Dr. Peter David Beter that revealed the truth about what really happened for those who subscribed his “audio letters”.

In Dr. Beter’s audio letter #40 from November 30, 1978, he disclosed that the Jonestown massacre was in fact staged by the U.S. military.  This mass casualty event allowed the military to take-out a nearby Soviet missile base and remove the bodies and warheads in coffins that were reportedly carrying the victims of the massacre.  He explained this is why the military brought sixteen C-131 aircraft, allegedly just to remove the bodies with only thirty-six caskets allotted for each plane.  This was despite the fact that this aircraft was commonly used for transporting tanks, trucks, troops and ammunition all in a single plane.

We believe Sacred Scripture as interpreted by the Church, together with the Seven Undisputed General Councils of the Whole Church, together with doctrines believed by the Church as a whole prior to the Great Schism of 1054, as defining the belief of the Whole Church. Every person wishing to become a member of this Church must affirm this Faith as contained in the articles below.

We affirm the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as interpreted by the Church, as containing everything that is necessary for salvation, and as being the rule and ultimate statement of the Faith of the Church.

We accept the Canon of Scripture as handed down from of Old.

We affirm the “Nicene Creed” as the principal creed of the Faith of the Church. We also recognize the Western Baptismal Creed, commonly called the "Apostles Creed," and the hymn commonly called the "Athanasian Creed" as representing statements of the Nicene Faith.

We believe that the Nicene Creed is a literal statement of the belief of the Church and is not subject to interpretation which dismisses as merely allegorical or merely mythological any portion thereof.

We affirm the Seven Sacraments Baptism, Holy Eucharist, Confirmation, Holy Order, Holy Matrimony, Penance and Holy Unction administered with the unfailing use of the traditional outward and visible signs, and the form, matter, ministers and intention received of old.

We affirm the Historic three-fold ministry of Bishops, priests and deacons, and the traditional rights and powers thereof, locally adapted in the methods of its administration according to the needs of the nations in which the Church resides, but historic in form, matter, ministers and intention.

We affirm that those who receive the Sacraments unworthily do so to their detriment, but do so without effecting the nature or efficacy of the Sacrament itself.

We affirm that the unworthiness of a minister of a Sacrament does not invalidate the Sacrament, but, rather, that a Sacrament performed with the proper matter and form, and with the intention of the Church to make such action a Sacrament, remains valid, whether or not the minister is worthy to administer that Sacrament.

We affirm that marriage, conducted as a Sacrament, with the full understanding and intention of both parties to make a marriage, is indissoluble except by death. However, we believe that the Church may annul "marriages" which have taken place without full understanding and intention of the parties involved, and counsel that error be made on the side of compassion for those seeking to make marriages after divorce.

We affirm an openness to all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, including the so-called "Charismata," but finding it unscriptural to require that anyone exercise any particular Charism to be considered a full, believing member of this body. (I Corinthians 12:21) Those who exercise the Charismata are welcome and encouraged to exercise their gifts to the edification of the Church in an orderly, Biblical manner, subject to the godly discipline of the Pastor of the Parish to which they have allegiance.

We believe in an intermediate state wherein, after death, those who do not die in a state of grace but are destined for salvation, will be purged of the last stains of sin. We deny that this intermediate state is a place of torture and fear, but affirm that any pains endured in this state are gladly embraced, as they are the pains of releasing our earthly bondage and conforming to the Will of God in all things.

We believe that there is a possibility that some will reject grace, no matter how often it is offered, and these people freely choose to remain in a state of separation from God. This state of spirit we call "Hell." It is a freely chosen state of the damned to be damned. It is not the will of the Father that any be lost.
We believe that humans are truly endowed with free-will and can freely choose Life in Christ Jesus or death through the rejection of grace.

We believe that the Holy Scriptures are inerrant on all matters of faith and morals.
We believe that people are justified by faith, which is demonstrated in good works and obedient practice. Both faith and works are necessary to the living of a Christian life.

We believe that there is a "cloud of witnesses," the Saints, whom we may ask to pray for us as one would ask any other member of the Church. It is an idolatrous practice, however, to ask Saints to give us any material or physical blessing of their own. For, while the prayer of the righteous is very effective (James 5:16), yet every good thing comes from the Father (James 1:17).

We believe that the "Sacrifice of the Mass" is a "making present" of Jesus’ One Sacrifice, once offered, forever. Jesus’ Sacrifice is made present on the altar, and, as such, the Mass may be spoken of as a Sacrifice. Therefore, it is appropriate that Masses be offered for the living and the dead, making present to the Church now the One Sacrifice once offered, and making very present the benefits of Christ’s Holy Sacrifice to the benefit of those present at the offering.

We believe that Mary, mother of Jesus, was truly the Theotokos, or bearer of the Incarnation of the Second Person of the Trinity. When Mary is called "Mother of God" we truly honor her who gave everything of herself to secure our Salvation. However, the Theotokos is called "Mother of God" in the sense that she bore Jesus, who was and is the Incarnation of the Son, not in the sense that she generated, in any way, the Godhead.

We believe that the prayers of the Blessed Virgin are effective because of her great and unique faith, and because she has a relationship which is unique with God from having been the bearer of the Son. The relationship, which exists between Jesus and His mother, is the same relationship Jesus wants to have with all believers. Mary is unique because of her great faith, and it is this which gives special power to her prayers, and her maternal relationship with the Lord.

We believe that all Bishops who have valid orders and remain in the orthodox faith, are successors of the Apostles, and, while we accord to the Bishop of Rome great respect, and primacy of position, we see him as first among equals, however completely reject the Papal Claims of Universal Jurisdiction and Infallibility.

We believe that faithful Christian Marriage between a male and a female, free of impediments, is the only legitimate state for sexual expression between individuals.

We believe that whatsoever is not repugnant to the Catholic Faith, but which aids in belief and devotion, may be believed as pious opinion, but may not be taught as doctrine of the Church.

We affirm that the Eucharist is the principal service of the Church; that its celebration is commanded by the Lord, and that it shall be the regularly celebrated Sunday Worship whenever possible.

The Christian’s Full Statement of Faith

Section 1: The Bible

1.1  We believe the Bible, comprised of the Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God (Matthew 5:18; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.   Matt 5:18

16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.    2 Timothy 3:16-17

Fantasy Correction 1:1 -

In one breath the Christians say they believe in the Old Testament and it is infallible and authoritative "Word of God."  Yet in the next breath they say that they don't have to follow what the Old Testament says because "The blood" of Jesus has done away with the old law.  They give a violent image in hopes that you will be intimidated and not answer.  They say there is now the new law instead (the New Testament).  This is a blatant contradiction in statements which is typical statements for a Christian.  They think they are exempt from stating any contradictions.  

They state that the Old Testament is the inspired and authoritative "Word of God."  This infallible and authoritative label means that the many commandments in the Old Testament have to be followed, such as the Ten Commandments.  The Christians in fact quote the Ten Commandments all the time.  Yet they violate the first four of the Ten Commandments with their stated fantasy religious story, as well as the ninth commandment "not to bear false witness."  That is violating five of the Ten Commandments.

Christians say that Jesus is "God in the Flesh."  This violates the first and most important Commandment, "Thou shall not have false Gods before me."  By Christians saying that Jesus is a God, and the Father is a God, and the Holy Ghost is a God, clearly violates this commandment.  By saying these as actually three persons in one God and that they are all equal in power and stature as one God is another blatant contradiction.  Jesus stated that the Father God was greater than he.  Jesus stated many times that he didn't know things that only the Father God knew.  So the Holy Ghost also didn't know.  The Jesus God prayed to the Father God in the Garden of Gethsemane to beg him to change his fate, which he didn't.  John the Baptist baptized people for the remission of sins and he baptized the Jesus God who allegedly was perfect and had never sinned.  Immediately after Jesus got baptized the other God, the Holy Ghost, descended into Jesus.  The Jesus God called "his God" the Father God, not the Holy Ghost.  This contradicts what the Old Testament says about there being only one God and no savior and that there is only one God and God is not in any man form.  "There is no other."  How can an infinite God also have finite qualities.

It also violates the third of The Ten Commandments to "not take the name of the Lord in vain. " Does the super-hero status of Jesus man is God, disclose the believer's ego (vanity) to have him as a personal big brother savior, or Superman.

Crosses and Statutes also violates the second of the Ten Commandments to not have graven images of God.  Any three dimensional characterization of Jesus, the dove Holy Ghost God or the Father God or any symbol representing these three Gods violates this commandment.

The ninth commandment of the Ten Commandments is not to bear false witness.  By Christians proclaiming to others that Jesus is God or that there are three Gods in one God is clearly bearing false witness.

The stating that God breathed out all the scriptures is absolute vanity.  Then follows the ridiculous statement that these scriptures are profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training is wishful thinking.  The New Testament is the most contradictory book ever written.  It says one thing, then says the opposite.  This is done throughout the whole New Testament.  And this is, as the infallible scripture says, to make the man "complete?"  Christians have committed to believing the New Testament is the word of God so they do everything imaginable to try to prove the scriptures are correct so that they don't seems like fools for believing anything they are told to believe without thinking about the statements.

1.2  In faith we hold the Bible to be inerrant in the original writings, God-breathed, and the complete and final authority for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Fantasy Correction 1.2

Bible inerrant???  Have they read their New Testament???  The whole book was composed by an errant Council of Nicaea.  The Council chose the books they wanted that supported their objectives.  And those "inerrant" writings they chose were changed many times by many people as all scholars agree on.  God's breathing sounds like a great image but certainly had nothing to do with the "final authority for faith and practice."  It is man who breathed the final authority for faith.  God would not breath out something so stupid.
 

1.3  While still using the individual writing styles of the human authors, the Holy Spirit perfectly guided them to ensure they wrote precisely what He wanted written, without error or omission (2 Peter 1:21).

21 For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God las they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Fantasy Correction 1.3

I guess the Holy Spirit was giver the job of ensuring that these humans wrote precisely what it wanted.  The Holy Spirit did a terrible job.  Maybe the job should have been given to the Father God instead.  Without error or omission??? Just another case of Christians says what sounds good hoping that the listeners are too lazy to investigate the statement.  
There are so many errors in the New Testament that is would be very difficult to number the amount.  There are omissions in the writings everywhere such as are found in the Genealogy of Jesus.  Every book of the New Testament conflicts with another part in the same book or in another book.  Holy Ghost - you are fired!!!
The scripture given is a good example.  "Men spoke from God."  Which God??? I can see that it says these men were carried along by the Holy Ghost so I assume that it wasn't that God.  Here is an example of the writings omitting which God it was.  Was it the Jesus God or was it the Father God.

Section 2: God

2.1 We believe in one God, who is Creator of all (Deuteronomy 6:4; Colossians 1:16), who has revealed Himself in three distinct Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14), yet who is one in being, essence, and glory (John 10:30).

14  The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.    2 Corinthians 13:14

Fantasy Correction 2.1

One God creator of all - anyone that doesn't understand this is a super-super-dummy.  Christians seem to escape this label…. but…..  But the three distinct persons who "is" (they use the singular) one being/essence …. Is an oxymoron statement.  Three persons in one person???    ...and then they put the word glory in as a distraction.  

God is eternal (Psalm 90:2), infinite (1 Timothy 1:17), and sovereign (Psalm 93:1). God is omniscient (Psalm 139:1-6), omnipresent (Psalm 139:7-13), omnipotent (Revelation 19:6), and unchanging (Malachi 3:6). God is holy (Isaiah 6:3), just (Deuteronomy 32:4), and righteous (Exodus 9:27). God is love (1 John 4:8), gracious (Ephesians 2:8), merciful (1 Peter 1:3), and good (Romans 8:28).

Section 3: Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is God incarnate, God in human form, the expressed image of the Father, who, without ceasing to be God, became man in order that He might demonstrate who God is and provide the means of salvation for humanity (Matthew 1:21; John 1:18; Colossians 1:15).

We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary (Matthew 1:23); that He is truly fully God and truly fully man (John 1:1,14); that He lived a perfect, sinless life (1 John 3:5); that all His teachings are true (John 14:6). We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for all humanity (1 John 2:2) as a substitutionary sacrifice (Isaiah 53:5-6). We hold that His death is sufficient to provide salvation for all who receive Him as Savior (John 1:12; Acts 16:31); that our justification is grounded in the shedding of His blood (Romans 5:9; Ephesians 1:7); and that it is attested by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6; 1 Peter 1:3).

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven in His glorified body (Acts 1:9-10) and is now seated at the right hand of God as our High Priest and Advocate (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25).

Section 4: The Holy Spirit

We believe in the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4). He regenerates sinners (Titus 3:5) and indwells believers (Romans 8:9). He is the agent by whom Christ baptizes all believers into His body (1 Corinthians 12:12-14). He is the seal by whom the Father guarantees the salvation of believers unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 1:13-14). He is the Divine Teacher who illumines believers’ hearts and minds as they study the Word of God (1 Corinthians 2:9-12).

We believe that the Holy Spirit is ultimately sovereign in the distribution of spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:11). We believe that the miraculous gifts of the Spirit, while by no means outside of the Spirit’s ability to empower, no longer function to the same degree they did in the early development of the church (1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 2 Corinthians 12:12; Ephesians 2:20; 4:7-12).

Section 5: Angels and Demons

We believe in the reality and personality of angels. We believe that God created the angels to be His servants and messengers (Nehemiah 9:6; Psalm 148:2; Hebrews 1:14).

We believe in the existence and personality of Satan and demons. Satan is a fallen angel who led a group of angels in rebellion against God (Isaiah 14:12-17; Ezekiel 28:12-15). He is the great enemy of God and man, and the demons are his servants in evil. He and his demons will be eternally punished in the lake of fire (Matthew 25:41;Revelation 20:10).

Section 6: Humanity

We believe that humanity came into existence by direct creation of God and that humanity is uniquely made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26-27). We believe that all humanity, because of Adam’s fall, has inherited a sinful nature, that all human beings choose to sin (Romans 3:23), and that all sin is exceedingly offensive to God (Romans 6:23). Humanity is utterly unable to remedy this fallen state (Ephesians 2:1-5,12).

Section 7: Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift of God’s grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross (Ephesians 2:8-9). Christ’s death fully accomplished justification through faith and redemption from sin. Christ died in our place (Romans 5:8-9) and bore our sins in His own body (1 Peter 2:24).

We believe salvation is received by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Good works and obedience are results of salvation, not requirements for salvation. Due to the greatness, sufficiency, and perfection of Christ’s sacrifice, all those who have truly received Christ as Savior are eternally secure in salvation, kept by God’s power, secured and sealed in Christ forever (John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 38-39; Ephesians 1:13-14; 1 Peter 1:5;Jude 24). Just as salvation cannot be earned by good works, neither does it need good works to be maintained or sustained. Good works and changed lives are the inevitable results of salvation (James 2).

Section 8: The Church

We believe that the Church, the Body of Christ, is a spiritual organism made up of all believers of this present age (1 Corinthians 12:12-14; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 1:22-23, 5:25-27). We believe in the ordinances of believer’s water baptism by immersion as a testimony to Christ and identification with Him, and the Lord’s Supper as a remembrance of Christ’s death and shed blood (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-42, 18:8; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26). Through the church, believers are to be taught to obey the Lord and to testify concerning their faith in Christ as Savior and to honor Him by holy living. We believe in the Great Commission as the primary mission of the Church. It is the obligation of all believers to witness, by word and life, to the truths of God’s Word. The gospel of the grace of God is to be preached to all the world (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:19-20).

Section 9: Things to Come

We believe in the blessed hope (Titus 2:13), the personal and imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to rapture His saints (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). We believe in the visible and bodily return of Christ to the earth with His saints to establish His promised millennial kingdom (Zechariah 14:4-11; 1 Thessalonians 3:13; Revelation 3:10, 19:11-16,20:1-6). We believe in the physical resurrection of all human beings—the saints to everlasting joy and bliss on the New Earth, and the wicked to eternal punishment in the lake of fire (Matthew 25:46; John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:5-6, 12-13).

We believe that the souls of believers are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord, where they await their resurrection when spirit, soul, and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the Lord (Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23, 3:21; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). We believe that the souls of unbelievers remain, after death, in conscious misery until their resurrection when, with soul and body reunited, they shall appear at the Great White Throne judgment and shall be cast into the Lake of Fire to suffer everlasting punishment (Matthew 25:41-46; Mark 9:43-48; Luke 16:19-26; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Revelation 20:11-15).

A Synopsis of the Priory of Sion Myth

The supposed history and significance of the Priory varies widely from writer to writer, but the basic story which has evolved over the last 30 years is roughly as follows:

• Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and intended her to lead the Church after his death.

• After the crucifixion, Mary fled to what is now southern France with their child or children where they found refuge in the local Jewish community.
•  
• A Fifth Century descendant of their sacred ‘bloodline’ became connected by marriage or sexual union with one of the earliest kings of the Frankish Merovingian line – the first royal house of France – who were themselves descended from ancient Israel.
• When the Merovingian line was usurped by the Carolingians, the ‘bloodline’ was preserved in secret and became the French noble House of Lorraine.
•  
• The lord of this house, Godfrey of Bouillon, joined the First Crusade and, through the intervention of secret preservers of his lineage, became the first King of Jerusalem.
•  
• These secret backers of Godfrey were established in an abbey or priory on Mount Zion and were later known as the Priory of Sion. They went on to engineer the Order of Knights Templar.
•  
• The Priory had the Knights Templar excavate under the old Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, supposedly to find lost documents regarding Mary Magdalene, or perhaps the bones of Jesus or even the Ark of the Covenant.
•  
• In 1188, the Priory and the Knights Templar split – the Knights were later brutally suppressed and many executed in 1307.
•  
• For the next 600 years the Priory of Sion went underground, working through fronts and other secret societies to preserve the secret of the ‘Bloodline’ which was the real ‘Holy Grail’.
•  
• In the late Twentieth Century, the Grand Master of the Priory, true heir to the throne of France and direct descendant of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, Pierre de Plantard, began to bring the Priory out of the shadows and initiate some form of political move of vast significance. Here the story breaks down, because Plantard died in 2000 without achieving anything or doing anything remarkable.

Universal Call to Holiness

Document Lumen Gentiumthat outlines what is called  "Universal Call to Holiness."

First  -

Local Bishop does an investigation gathering statements from witnesses, the person's writings, etc.  The Bishop declares that they are worthy to be a saint and forwards an application to the  Congregation for the Causes of Saints.

Second, -

the Congregation for the Causes of Saints decides to accept the application and does its own investigation.  By accepting the application the person gains the official title "the Servant of God."

Third -

Congregation for the Causes of Saints declares that the person lived a life heroically virtuous life. The person is then officially considered for sainthood.   With this official consideration the person gains the title of "Venerable."  However there is no declaration that the person has gone to heaven.

Fourth -

This requires that a miracle happened through this person's intercession.  This miracle is almost always a healing.  The healing has to be instantaneous, permanent, and complete while also being scientifically unexplainable.  Miracles have to be first verified as scientifically unexplainable by a group of independent doctors.  Then the person is approved by a panel of theologians.  The final approval has to come from the pope.  With the recognition that one miracle occurred the person gains the title of "Blessed."  With this title goes the official recognition that the person has gone to heaven.

Fifth - 

A second miracle must have happened.  The same scrutiny is applied to the second miracle.  Then if the  appropriate scrutiny is approved, the person is declared a "Saint."

Of course Popes can sidestep these requirements at their whim as exemplified by Pope Francis recognizing Pope John XXIII as a Saint without a second miracle.  And the Opus Dei founder Josemaria Escriva had no "devils advocate" and negative testimony was not permitted like from his nephew and his secretary.  .... etc.
